Useful for my Visitors

Posted By Admin on May 21, 2008 @ 5:07 am

The one thing that I wanted to do for my business was to make it as user friendly as possible.  I didn’t want to create a poor quality site that no one would enjoy, but rather make it the destination on the Internet.

I thought that I had everything all setup properly until I read some online services news that pointed out something that my site was missing.  Once I read the news, I realized it was a “must-have” thing for my new site.

You see, they talked about the need for fresh content online and how it could be easily provided by using news widgets on your site.  By using the widgets, you didn’t need to be a coding expert to provide your visitors with the latest news from around the world.

So, I put one of these widgets on my site, and I have seen an increase in the number of return visitors - just what I was looking for.

Getting the Dirt on His Dates

Posted By Admin on April 27, 2008 @ 9:13 pm

My brother has always been one to dig up dirt on his dates.  He wants to know everything about his dates, the good and especially the bad.  For him, it is like he has power over them as well as a warning tool to find out if he is dating a loser.

Okay, that makes him sound bad, but really he is an okay guy.  But he has had some very bad luck in the past and he just wants to make sure that he prevents any pain that he may suffer.  Lately he has been taking advantage of the many free online dating sites to find future Mrs. right.

What he loves the most is that most of them have profiles as well as feedback from other users.  Usually if there is a lemon of a date, you know about it immediately based on the reviews and ratings on the site.

I guess he has a new date that he is going out with on Wednesday.  He will let me know how it goes - I just hope he finds someone soon, he is not getting any younger.

Helping out a Sister in Need

Posted By Mitefind on April 16, 2008 @ 2:21 pm

My sister is coming to my place in a few weeks to showcase her products that she is selling in her home business.  I told her, that I would be happy to invite some friends over to my house so that she could tell them about the product and hopefully make a few sales from the event.

I told her that I wasn’t really into anything very extravagant and that as far as entertaining those all the guests would be getting would be cheap finger food.  She said she was fine with this as it wasn’t about the food anyway; it was about the product that she was selling.

I hope that she does well as I am really trying to it and encourage and support her and getting out there and having the guts to run a business.  I am not really interested in the product she is selling but I am interested in being a good sister and doing my part to make her success happen.

Deciding To Be A Mom

Posted By Mitefind on January 17, 2008 @ 5:36 pm

A few years ago, I was in University, working towards my education degree. I had wanted to be a teacher my whole life and I was proud that I was accomplishing the goal that I had dreamed of from a small child.

I was about halfway done when I started to think outside the box. I was a young bride and mother and I started to have doubts about being a teacher. I decided that I did not want to leave my son with a sitter, just to go and spend my day in a room full of other people’s kids.

I went to see a counselor who told me the typical answer: "your next choice will determine your future - but it is your choice and no one had the right to judge you for your decision." In the end, I decided that being with my son was what was best for us at the time.

Since then, I have had the opportunity to meet and grow rich in love with many other mothers who think like I do. We get to stay home with our babies, and we all know that school will be there when our babies are grown.

Proud Wife of an Traffic Violation Attorney

Posted By Mitefind on January 12, 2008 @ 10:59 pm

My husband has always worked as a Bronx traffic violation lawyer, since the day he finished law school and started practicing. At first, the title embarrassed me and I would just say that he was a lawyer. Settling unpaid speeding tickets did not sound very glamorous to me.

Over the years, as I have gotten to know many other NYC traffic violation attorneys, I have changed my mind quite drastically. After all, it is not like he brings in any less money than any other lawyer working in his area. He has just chosen a different field than most.

The reason he made this decision, is when he was just entering law school, he had a professor who used to work as a Manhattan traffic violation attorney and my husband idolized the man. He wanted to be just like him, and thus chose the same path. Who knows, maybe he will trade it all in one day to be a professor as well.

Something to Believe In

Posted By Mitefind on December 22, 2007 @ 11:22 am

I am currently managing a shoe store. It is not a regular shoe store, but one that sells only Croc shoes. They come in assorted styles and colors and happen to be the most comfortable shoes I have ever worn. The reason I am managing the store is because I really believe in the product and I won’t sell something that I do not have faith in.

Crocs are starting to get more popular as more and more people hear of the comfort and benefits of wearing them. I see them all over the place now and the store is usually pretty busy. We also have a lot of repeat customers, which is a good sign that they are good shoes.

We recently brought in all terrain Crocs. They are good in winter weather and are good for hiking and such. I was glad to see them, as Crocs were previously just a summer shoe. They have sold very well and I have had to place two extra orders for them as they sell out very quickly. It is a good job and I love making this product known to people, especially those that have experienced foot pain and have had problems finding comfortable shoe in the past.

A Little Present for Mom and Dad

Posted By Admin on December 20, 2007 @ 10:01 am

As Christmas approaches, I am making my final purchases for gifts for the holidays.  I have had to double check my purchases to make sure I haven’t missed anyone, and it looks like there is only one gift left: the gift for my inlaws.

Now, I call my wife’s parents mom and dad, and I have for many years.  They have never been very well off, and I thought years ago that we would buy them a home when we had the money.  Thankfully, our business has been going very well, and this is the year that it will happen.

We have been looking at Asheville real estate for the past few months, trying to find them a place.  Even though there were many Asheville condos we looked at, it wasn’t until last week when we checked out an ad in the paper (it was poor English and read "real estate for sale Asheville") that we found what we had been looking for.

We just finished getting the property transferred to their names yesterday, and the locks changed as well.  So, we are going to wrap up a picture of their place, and their keys, and give it to them Christmas day.  I think they will be happy and surprised at the same time - I cannot wait to see their reaction.

A Proud AME

Posted By Mitefind on December 14, 2007 @ 3:56 am

I build various aircraft electrical system parts for a living. I have always been interested in airplanes, but I knew that flying was out of the question, due to my deathly fear of heights. So, I decided to become an Airline Mechanical Engineer.

Avionics is such a worthwhile business to be in because people will always have the need for air travel. I feel that my job of making sure that the aircraft’s electrical system is running effectively is just as important as the job of the pilot to fly the aircraft.

One day, while I was in the office waiting for a delivery of fasteners and other aircraft parts, one of the pilots started asking me questions about the electrical mechanics of the landing gear on the particular plane he was to fly that afternoon. I think that was the first time I realized how important my job really was. There was not one person on that plane who could do what I do and that made me take pride in my job.

Quick Success in World of Warcraft

Posted By Admin on December 5, 2007 @ 4:15 pm

I have to admit that sometimes I am not very patient with life.  If there is something that I want, I want it now - I do not want to wait.  This is something that affects all areas of my life and most recently it has affected my World of Warcraft (WOW) player.

You see, I purchased WOW a couple weeks ago, and it has been great.  I spend quite a bit of time playing, but to be honest, I am getting impatient.  I do not have enough WOW gold to buy the items I want - and I want those items now.

So, I purchased some WOW guides that promised to show the "way" to make gold as quickly as possible - sadly it is not quite fast enough.  There were also tips on how to get my character to high levels quickly - but still it is not fast enough for me.

I am browsing through some WOW accounts on a site, trying to find a character that is the level I want and has the items I want.  If I find the one I need, I can just buy it without having to spend all my time getting to that level.  Definitely a much simpler and quicker solution for me.

Teaching a Class on Resume Writing

Posted By Mitefind on December 1, 2007 @ 3:40 pm

Tonight I am putting on a class for job seekers on how to write a resume.  I have been teaching these classes for some time and the results have been good.  Most of my students use the lessons I teach them and they succeed at getting a job quickly.

Up to this point, I have just been teaching my students how to make a resume using pen and paper - then typing it out.  Today I am going to try something different.

You see, a few weeks ago while reading my emails, I received one from my friend Jill who also teaches people about resume writing.  She sent me some details regarding an online resume builder that she found - it was free and provided the framework our students needed to do their resume quickly.

So, I had been testing this online tool for the past couple of weeks to make sure that it was valuable - and it has proven its’ worth.  So, I created some class material and I will be presenting information on it tonight.  I have decided to talk about it last, because I need them to know the basics before they try the tool - to avoid mistakes.

With the new lesson in place, today should be interesting and exciting - I was getting bored teaching the same thing each time - it will be refreshing to talk about something different.
