I recently had the opportunity to have dinner with my boss.  I know that this might sound a little strange, but we were at a marketing conference and being his right hand man, I was there as well.  We were just having lunch during the lunch break from the conference.

My boss owns a number of self storage facilities, and I thought I could pick his brain as a self storage owner to see what to expect owning your own facility.  You see, I have the opportunity to purchase a facility at a good discount, and I have been really considering doing it.

He explained to me that when he started out, he was a little skeptical that it would work out, but everything worked out fine.  Investment wise, he felt that it was one of the best ones that he made in his life and told me I was making the right decision.

We went back to the conference and had a good day.  I think that I will buy the facility that is for sale - it sounds like a good investment for me.

When I was in college, studying to be a teacher, I had always dreamed of having my own high school class one day.  It was quite a blow, when I found out that I would be teaching seventh-grade.  I hadn’t counted on the fact that I would not be teaching GCSE coursework.

I made the best of it and decided that since I did not have the class I imagined I would have, I would pour myself into preparing the kid’s for A level coursework that they would be subjected to in a few short years.

After only a few months of teaching seventh-grade, I found that I really enjoyed the coursework that I was teaching them and could not have imagined starting out with any other group of kids than the ones that I got.

I like to try my hand at different writing tasks.  You see, I have always loved to write, but in my adult life, there has not been a lot of chances to write anything more detailed than a phone message.  When I saw an ad for someone to write admission essays, I wanted to find out more.

The company that was looking for writers was an online essay sales company.  They were looking for people to work in their college application essay department writing essays for their clients.  Basically we would be provided a list of interests and accomplishments, and we would craft their words into an essay that they would submit with their college application.

I had never written one before, so they wanted me to provide them with a sample.  Before I did that, I had to ask what the rate of pay was - and unfortunately it was way too low.

So, I will have to pass on this opportunity, and maybe look for the next one.  Who knows what might come my way.

It was a big blow, in so many ways, when my husband passed away from a fatal car accident this past winter.  I honestly didn’t know how we were going to survive without him.  I missed him so much and was able to hold it together only because I had to for the kids.

It soon became a reality to me that I was going to have to get a job.  I had not worked outside of the home for more than eight years, since the birth of our first child.  I was not even sure where to start, as I didn’t really have any skills that applied to today’s workforce.  It was a very scary reality for me.

Miraculously, it was suggested that I get a job in garden maintenance.  I was told that I have the loveliest gardens in town and met many people would be happy to leave their gardens in my care when they went on vacation.  I decided this would be a good opportunity for me to make some income during the summer.

I know the job will not sustain me through the fall and winter months, but I guess I will cross that bridge when I come to it.

The first time I ever wrote a custom term paper for somebody else, I had such a good time doing it, that I decided to make a little mini career out of it. The thing that was so great about it was that I got to write about things that I was not currently studying, so it made my life a little bit less tedious and boring.

When I finished college, I decided that I would still offer to write a custom research paper for someone, should they ask me to. I figured that this would be a great way to always be learning new things. I would make money doing it, plus I would get the added bonus of gaining new knowledge. I couldn’t think of anything that made more sense.

I actually enjoyed it when I had a buy essay order more than I did working at my real job. I was busy enough that I would be doing research over my lunch break. I could have eventually made it my sole job, but I was not sure how I would claim my income. I couldn’t exactly put down that I wrote essays for college students, so they would get better grades.

I have been working part time at a photo lab for the past couple of months.  I only work a few days a week, more to get me out of the house than anything.  For the most part, the job has been pretty easy and relaxing.  It has been a great time, and I think I have mastered everything that I learned in my training.

But today, I had the opportunity to learn something new.  You see, we are now offering a service where we put photos onto canvas - essentially turning a picture into a work of art.  The reason that this service is added to our products is that there is good markup on the service and there have been a lot of requests for it.  One of our competitors in town offered the service before us, but we are now going to be offering it, at a lower price.

Most of my morning was spent learning how to create the final product.  Though it will take me a couple of days to master it, I think that it will become very easy as well.  At least I can say the job isn’t boring - I was able to try something new today.

I came across an advertisement in the paper the other day, looking for someone who was interested in doing Mesa exterior painting. I was very interested in this, as I was having a difficult time finding work and I wondered if this might be an answer to prayer. I decided to check it out and gave the number a call.

I asked the man if there was a branch of the company closer to my area and he let me know about a Phoenix paint contractor that may be looking for help. I told him that I would make the call and if I couldn’t find anything closer to home, I would call him back.

That is how I got my job as a Phoenix house painter. I really love what I am doing and it makes me feel good to complete a project. I have yet to have a customer complain about my work. I have finally found something that I am good at and I am getting paid for it. It is great.

One thing that I will never understand is why people actually decide to become accountants. I have always felt that numbers were very boring and it seems like sitting behind a desk and crunching numbers all day would be a recipe for disaster. I still don’t get why people pay thousands of dollars and waste years of their lives training to do this.

I have a friend that decided to become an accountant, so I decided to ask him what drew him into this choice of careers. He said that he simply found accounting easy and that there was a lot of money to be made by going into this field of work. I did agree with him on the money bit, but still, to want to do this day in and day out was beyond me.

He told me that what made him decide to do it was that when he was at his high school job, he had such a great time doing payroll. He worked at a convenience store for four years and during his last year of high school, he was put on payroll. He would rather have done payroll all day than work behind the counter. He decided then that he loved accounting.
