There are a lot of athletes and bodybuilders who are a little confused about human growth hormone. Many consider it to be like steroids or even the same thing! However, the two substances are very different; though they do share the common ground of being naturally produced by the human body. In this article, we’ll cover the differences between steroids and bodybuilding and HGH and bodybuilding.

The first and most prominent difference between the two is in their side effects. You probably know that steroid abuse can lead to adverse and serious side effects. For example, in men, steroid abuse can lead to impotence, reduction in sperm count, shrinking of the testicles, and development of breasts.

Women who abuse steroids may experience side effects like a deepening of their voices, a disrupted menstrual cycle, shrinking breasts and even growing facial hair. Steroid abuse in men and women can case harmful side effects like liver damage, blood clotting disorders, weight gain, higher levels of cholesterol and an increased risk for cardiovascular disease. There is also the problem of addiction – steroids can be very addictive and cause severe withdrawal symptoms in those trying to get off of steroids.

By contrast, HGH has a lower risk of side effects, with HGH supplements being practically free of this problem. You may have heard about side effects associated with human growth hormone, though this is essentially limited to injection HGH therapy, not the hormone itself or HGH supplements.

The injectable form of HGH leads to a number of side effects, which includes joint inflammation, bone growth deformities, diabetic coma, and high blood pressure. Why do these side effects happen? Since HGH is supplied by an outside source, the body is led to think that it no longer needs to produce HGH on its own, leading to the improper functioning of the pituitary gland, which produces the growth hormone.

HGH supplements are a safer alternative which are just as effective as other types of human growth hormone therapy. Since these supplements don’t contain HGH, they are free of the risks of injection HGH therapy. Instead, these supplements are made with amino acids, minerals, vitamins and nutrients which help your body to make its own human growth hormone.

Another difference between anabolic steroids and HGH is that human growth hormone cannot be detected using the blood tests which are done to test for steroids. HGH is almost impossible to detect with a blood test and is easily absorbed by the system, which has made HGH supplements very popular with bodybuilders and other athletes as well as with the general public.

HGH’s benefits for bodybuilding have been known for quite some time, with this hormone being considered a preferable alternative to steroids. It’s safer and much less costly than steroids while being effective and free of side effects.
