There will be a Sugar Maple Festival on April 17, April 18 and April 19, 2009. The Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Historical Society will be sponsoring this most awaited festival. The location of the festival will be at the downtown area of Bellbrook, Ohio. On April 17 at 6:00 P.M. the festival will officially start, then on April 18 it will start from 10:00 A.M. until 7:00 P.M. on April 19 the festival will start from noon and will be official closed by 6:00 P.M.
The theme for this years festival is Once Upon A Time and in keeping with this years theme the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Historical Society will be showcasing the Bellbrook Museum. All booths will be located in front of the museum and will serve as a gateway for all the guided tours. The guided tours will feature our history in the hopes that this will bring history closer.
The admission fee for this festival is $1.00 or $5.00 for 6 tickets. There will be raffle draws at the booths and for members there will be a water color painting done by local artist, Donna L. Gibson. At the booths there will be booklets about the history of Bellbrook and there will be maps describing each site. The famous Sugar Maple cookies will also be available at the booths.
Over the past few 200 years the Bellbrook Old Village have gather a lot of history and stories while becoming a developed city. This walking tour, Bellbrook Historical Society Tour, will be the first one done at the beautiful downtown area. With this tour the Bellbrook Historical Society aims to provide a venue where the public will learn the history of the city and at the same time earn enough the help preserve the Bellbrooks past.
There will be different children activities that will be a lot of fun for all ages. There will be new activities this year like the dinosaur dig, fish pond, Plinko, Lucky Key Game, and a Tatoo Parlor. The hula hoop and jump rope contests will still be available for the children this year.
