My New Diet

Posted By Mitefind on August 29, 2008 @ 10:47 am

I have always been a little bit of a health food nut, so when a friend started talking to me about the chlorella that she was taking as a daily part of her diet, I was all ears. I am really into anything that is healthy and natural.

By the time we finished our conversation, I was totally sold on it. I went to talk to someone about getting it for myself and that is when I learned about the health benefits of taking spirulina. From the sounds of it, it was an amazing product and I knew I had to try it for myself.

I did not stop taking my barley grass, but these products too, became a part of my daily nutritional intake. Some people in my family think that I am weird, but I can honestly say that I am much healthier than every single one of them.

Teaching a Class About Landscaping

Posted By Admin on August 13, 2008 @ 4:50 pm

I never considered teaching others about landscaping designs as a career, but somehow this is the job that I ended up with.  Now, I am not complaining as it is something that I love, but nonetheless it was very unexpected.

It all started a number of years ago when I wrote a book on landscaping design ideas that became very popular, very quickly.  I wouldn’t say that it was a revolutionary book by any means, but the public response was very overwhelming – so much so that I received international recognition for my writing.

So, here I am, years later, teaching a class on landscaping.  Today we will be covering lantana care and how they can change the ambience of your yard.  I haven’t taught this class before, but if you count the number of people who have registered, it looks like the turnout will be amazing.

Well, I better put the finishing touches on the presentation and get ready – the class starts in about ten minutes.

Off to Work

Posted By Admin on August 12, 2008 @ 8:39 am

Well, it is almost 9 AM and time to go to my job.  I have been a cheap auto insurance salesperson for a number of years now and I know it inside out.  I love the fact that I have the opportunity to help people get the best cheap car insurance rate possible and let them save some money too.

But I’ll be the first to admit that it wasn’t easy.  In fact, I think one of the hardest things that I had to do was go back to school.  Sure, the course to sell insurance wasn’t long, but it had been a long time since I had to study or crack open a textbook.  But, I was able to pass the test with flying colors, and therefore I am selling insurance to this day.

Today should be a little more interesting than most as I have an appointment with a client that is looking for classic car insurance – something that I haven’t sold in a long time.

The Pack Rat

Posted By Mitefind on August 10, 2008 @ 10:49 pm

After my grandfather passed away, I realized very quickly that he had been a severe pack rat. When we were going through his closet, we found a whole garbage bag full of mens ties. The thing that was most humorous about that is that Granddad did not like wearing ties and wore them only to very special occasions.

The same thing happened as we went through his dresser. He had a whole drawer full of jewelry and he certainly was not the type that would ever wear anything except his pocket watch and his simple wedding band. Why he had a drawer full of cufflinks was completely beyond me.

He had several money clips in the drawer and I know he never used a single one of them. I think that they must have all been gifts at one point and rather than offend the giver by exchanging the item, he packed it away in the drawer for us to find decades later.

Saving Money on a Weekend Trip

Posted By Admin on August 9, 2008 @ 7:13 pm

I don’t know about you, but most weekends in the summer I spend far away from the city and my job.  It is just nice to go somewhere to relax and forget work on Monday morning.

But, all this traveling does come at a cost, and since the gas prices are so much this year, I am finding that I can’t travel as much as I would like.  So, we have been trying to find some car rental coupons online that would let us travel as much as we did last year.

It hasn’t been easy to find the coupons that we have been looking for, but my wife is very good at finding things online.  I would have to call her a genius as she was able to install a coupon toolbar in her browser to find all sorts of discounts.

So, we have been able to save some money on traveling and we are now able to go out of town three weekends each month.  In fact, I think we are taking a trip next weekend – I can’t wait!

Providing a Business Forms Service

Posted By Admin on August 5, 2008 @ 10:32 am

When I was just out of high school, I decided that instead of getting a regular job I would create my own business providing a service to the community.  At the time, I realized that there was a need for a company to provide inexpensive business forms to the business community and I took advantage of this need.

Thankfully, my parents were well versed in creating business forms and I borrowed from their strengths to create the forms that I would sell to other businesses.  They helped me to draft packages that would apply to the needs of the business community which allowed me to have a line of products to sell.

Some of the packages that I sold included deed polls, termination papers, forms for company resolutions, and many others.  I mainly sold these through door-to-door sales and it wasn’t until the popularity of the Internet increased that I finally had some competition.

Now, I have a website that is used to sell the same business forms that I created many years ago and it is doing very well.  Though it is not my primary source of income, every time I get a sale I still get butterflies in my stomach.

Going to Icmeler Turkey

Posted By Admin on August 2, 2008 @ 4:47 pm

When it comes to cheap holidays, I would consider myself an expert.  You see, I take the time to do the research on the places that I would like to go as well as shop around for the best rates on flights and accommodations.  Not only does is keep my costs down, but it also means that I can take more vacations in a year.

For example, after finding cheap flights to Turkey, I decided that it might be worth going there.  I’ve never been to Turkey before, so thought it would be a great opportunity to visit the country that I’ve never seen.

In the end, I decided that I would visit Icmeler Turkey and its wonderful beaches for a great week off of work.  I am leaving next Friday and I am almost all packed.  If I told you the price for the entire trip you would be shocked: it is definitely one of the cheapest places in the world to visit.
