My Spanish Mentor

When I was in high school I was absolutely thrilled when I got Mrs. Gonzalez as my Spanish teacher. She was amazing and she had a great success rate with her students. It was almost as if she knew exactly what each of us needed and she was there to give it to us.

She had studied at Spanish School Antigua Guatemala and she told us that if we ever had the opportunity to go and learn there that we would have such a love for the language. She inspired me to become a Spanish teacher myself.

Although the opportunity has never come up for me to go and study at her beloved school, I am still hoping to one day visit there. She has since gone back home to South America and I would love to have the chance to go and see her one day and let her know just how big of an impact that she had on my life. I am sure she would be proud.
