Giving Them Better Than I Had

I grew up in a very poor family. We did not have enough money to afford the necessities and I always swore that it would be different when I grew up and had a family. I did not want my own children to have to worry about the future all the time like I had. I promised myself that it would not happen.

My husband and I now have three children. We are not rich and I will admit that there are some months that we scrape by living from paycheck to paycheck. The big difference is that I can offer my children security. We have life insurance should anything happen to one or both of us and I have ensured that my children will be provided for.

They also definitely do not go without the necessities. Though we cannot afford to go out and buy them all of the latest video games, they are always well dressed and there is always more food in the house than we could ever expect to eat. I have kept that promise that I made to myself many years ago.
