Sick of Fundraising

My son is in kindergarten this year and I am getting very frustrating with all of the fundraising that the school is doing. It seems like they are asking for money for something different every week and I am starting to feel tapped out. This week, they are having a sports auction and the only thing I am interested in is the NBA tickets.

I think it is nice that someone would buy NBA tickets and donate them to the school for their auction, but I feel that the school is starting to take advantage of us as parents. I am also scared for the years to come, as my son is just in his first year and I don’t think that I can handle twelve years of this kind of fundraising pressure.

I decided that I was not going to attend the auction to try and prove a point. I am sure that they are cheap NBA tickets anyway and I will get a better view by watching the game on TV. I don’t know that I am going to make a difference at all, but maybe if I refuse to participate in any more fundraising I will make my point.
