Deciding To Be A Mom

Posted By Mitefind on January 17, 2008 @ 5:36 pm

A few years ago, I was in University, working towards my education degree. I had wanted to be a teacher my whole life and I was proud that I was accomplishing the goal that I had dreamed of from a small child.

I was about halfway done when I started to think outside the box. I was a young bride and mother and I started to have doubts about being a teacher. I decided that I did not want to leave my son with a sitter, just to go and spend my day in a room full of other people’s kids.

I went to see a counselor who told me the typical answer: "your next choice will determine your future – but it is your choice and no one had the right to judge you for your decision." In the end, I decided that being with my son was what was best for us at the time.

Since then, I have had the opportunity to meet and grow rich in love with many other mothers who think like I do. We get to stay home with our babies, and we all know that school will be there when our babies are grown.

Social Bookmarking Sites Help Create Internet Buzz

Posted By Admin on January 16, 2008 @ 11:00 am

Are you familiar with the social bookmarking sites?  If you have ever heard of digg, StumbleUpon, del.icio.us, reddit and others, you have heard of some of them.  In fact, there are hundreds of these types of sites online that allow you to store your bookmarks on them in case your computer crashes.

For those of you out there who own websites, you can use these social bookmarking sites to create some Internet buzz about your sites.  It also lets you get some feedback on what others think about your site since they can submit website ratings at these bookmarking sites as well.

I would suggest that you check them out.  You will see the best fun websites and serious websites there, ranked by popularity.  Accounts are also free, so that you can bookmark and rate the websites you visit too.

One word of advice – don’t just bookmark your own sites.  Try to bookmark other sites that you like and visit on a regular basis.  This shows that you are not just there to get traffic – but rather contribute to the community.  That is what social bookmarking is all about.

Changing Products can Change a Business

Posted By Mitefind on January 15, 2008 @ 8:43 am

I was a long time distributor of Rolex watches. I found it to be a rather tedious business, as the clients are always the same and there are not a lot of new faces ever. I got seriously tired of the business, but selling watches was what I knew. My mother suggested that I just change the types of watches that I sell and get a whole new crowd.

She was right. I started selling replica watches and found that my new clientele was much more polite and thankful as to what my product had to offer. And, to be completely honest, I was moving more inventory and making more money.

For my old clientele, it was a laugh when I offered them Rolex replicas. They looked at me as though I had sprouted another head. This made my job even more fun and I really do enjoy it now. My mom was right about changing the direction of where to take the store and I couldn’t be happier.

Better Reviews for Chick Flicks

Posted By Mitefind on January 14, 2008 @ 3:30 pm

I wanted to start my own ratingzone website, especially for young women my age. I find that a lot of the movie rating websites are geared towards men and are obviously written by men. I do not share similar movie tastes and I find that a lot of the movies I enjoy get completely bad ratings, as they seem devoid of blood and guts.

What we really need is to have someone who enjoys watching romantic comedies and dramas to write their own reviews. It would give us a more honest look from our own perspective.

I love net gossip and this is how I keep up on the latest chick flicks and find out what my favorite actors are doing. Because of this, I seem to watch movies shortly after they are released.

I think I would be really good at writing entertainment reviews for “chick flicks”. I would love to start a website devoted to this and I think I am going to. But, before I do, I will need to do some research. So, for now, I am off to the movies.

Not a Gold Kind of Girl

Posted By Mitefind on January 13, 2008 @ 2:22 pm

I own very few pieces of gold jewelry. Most of the pieces that I own are stainless steel jewelry. I actually prefer these over the gold and silver, as they look very classy and are affordable enough that I can let my daughters wear them and not be totally paranoid all day that they are going to lose them.

My friend owns a wholesale stainless steel jewelry business and she gives me a great deal on jewelry. She also gives me a lot of pieces to wear just for telling people about her business. I hand out her cards and she rewards me with quite a few pieces of my own.

As she owns the store buying stainless steel jewelry wholesale is an option she makes available to me from time to time. I especially make good use of this option at Christmas time and purchase many pieces for my mother and sisters. They love it too.

Proud Wife of an Traffic Violation Attorney

Posted By Mitefind on January 12, 2008 @ 10:59 pm

My husband has always worked as a Bronx traffic violation lawyer, since the day he finished law school and started practicing. At first, the title embarrassed me and I would just say that he was a lawyer. Settling unpaid speeding tickets did not sound very glamorous to me.

Over the years, as I have gotten to know many other NYC traffic violation attorneys, I have changed my mind quite drastically. After all, it is not like he brings in any less money than any other lawyer working in his area. He has just chosen a different field than most.

The reason he made this decision, is when he was just entering law school, he had a professor who used to work as a Manhattan traffic violation attorney and my husband idolized the man. He wanted to be just like him, and thus chose the same path. Who knows, maybe he will trade it all in one day to be a professor as well.

Asking For Advice

Posted By Mitefind on January 7, 2008 @ 11:52 am

When someone really and truly wants your opinion, than they will ask for it. We should never assume that people all want our advice. I am a firm believer that advice is something that should be asked for.

There is nothing worse than having to make a decision and having a hundred different views and opinions thrown at you. For me, I would ask the people who have my best interests in mind and have nothing to gain from the situation.

I think it is right on the mark to say that there are way too many opinionated people out there who don’t even stop to get all the details before spouting off their needless advice. These are the ones that we don’t need.

I am not saying that opinions and reviews are not a good thing to have, because they are. I am just saying that they are valued if they are asked for. That is all.

Welcome to my New Home

Posted By Mitefind on January 6, 2008 @ 3:14 pm

It sure feels nice to sit down.  You see, over the past few weeks, I have been packing for my big move to my new home.  No, I wasn’t able to afford a house, but instead I purchased one of those mobile homes.

You might wonder why anyone would want to live in a mobile home park, but the one I am now in is really nice.  Also, the price was well within what I could afford, and so I was able to put down a larger down payment, so they were able to remove PMI from my mortgage requirements.

Speaking of mortgages, my mortgage broker was exceptional.  She was able to get me a manufactured home loan at a rate better than what was posted in the paper.  My good credit history, large down payment, and the fact that I have worked at the same place for five years all contributed to my successful mortgage.

Well, now all I have to do is unpack my stuff.  Looks like I will be doing this for a few more weeks…. but it is sure good to have a place to call home.

Looking For Loopholes

Posted By Mitefind on January 5, 2008 @ 1:34 pm

Every so often, it is a good idea to go over the Medicare guidelines. Things in the system do change quite often and we are not always made aware of the changes that have been made. I try to go over the new changes every couple of months or so. There are many reasons for doing this and one major one is that it can save you a lot of money.

My son was diagnosed with diabetes when he was three years old and we always paid for his diabetic supplies. We found out that there were free diabetic supplies available to him four years later, and we had been paying for them the whole time. This is why I now go over all of the changes in the guidelines.

We also realized that we were eligible for Medicare supplement, which would help us with the supplies that were not covered, so would save us even more in the long run. I am so glad that I have started doing this, as I have found many loopholes and saved myself and my family a lot of debt.

Learning How to Convert a DVD to iPod Touch

Posted By Admin on January 4, 2008 @ 11:00 pm

I had always thought that all iPods were exactly the same.  I am on my third one now and I am still using the same software to transfer my music to my new one as I did with my old iPods.

Now, I did find one difference between the models – the way you convert video to be played on them.  Originally I thought it would be the same, but when I used the video from my iPod Classic video converter, it looked horrible on my new iPod Touch.

You see, the video didn’t fill the screen properly, and the video looked poor.  I looked online to see if others had the same problems as I did.  I found many people had problems with the method to convert DVD to iPod Nano – but that wasn’t what I was looking for.

After an hour or so of looking, I was able to find a site that had a tutorial on how to convert a DVD to iPod Touch.  It took me just ten minutes to read and start to convert a DVD.  It is sure a lot easier than it used to be.
