New to Web Hosting

I don’t envy those of you out there that are new to web hosting.  Unfortunately, for those of you that are, there are a bunch of web hosting companies out there just to take your money – and offer poor uptime.  Check out the tips below for suggestions on how to avoid problems like these.

My first advice to you would be to check web host review websites.  They can provide a valuable resource as to what companies to avoid, as well as highlight any problems (or successes) other people have had along the way.  I would suggest comparing notes between different comparison sites to ensure that you are getting accurate information.

Another way to avoid some of the common problems with web hosting would be to find business web hosting.  The reason that I suggest this is that most businesses will not put up with bad quality – if it is poor, they move elsewhere.  So, usually business caliber hosting should be better – again check the reviews on your potential web hosts.

The last thing I would suggest is don’t be afraid to move your site.  If the web hosting experience is not quite what you thought it would be, don’t be afraid to move.  Hosting is really not different than any other service based company – if you don’t like the service, take your business elsewhere.  Sure, it is a pain to move hosts, on the other hand if the hosting doesn’t make you happy, why are you there?
