My Brother’s Experience With Travel Medical Insurance

Posted By Admin on July 20, 2007 @ 6:45 am

My brother just returned from a trip to India. He had a great time and shared his good memories. Even though he did have a good trip, his girlfriend had become very sick and was rushed to the hospital. It turned out she needed her appendix removed. Thankfully they had purchased travel medical insurance before they left, so her hospital stay was covered.

I had to ask why he needed supplemental insurance, when he already had an insurance policy from his work. He said that before he left he had inquired with his insurance company and found out that they don’t cover anything done outside of the U.S. Even though there was a nominal fee, they were both happy to purchase the insurance incase something happened – and they were glad they did!

Just like regular health insurance, travel insurance covers your health care costs when you leave the country.  Whether it be a simple visit to the doctor, or a lengthy hospital stay, travel medical insurance protects you from the financial burden of medical bills.

Now that I have learned that my work policy doesn’t include insurance when I am out of country, I will be sure to insure myself before my next big trip.  Though I hope nothing happens to me when I travel, it is better to be prepared than suffer financial ruin should something go wrong.

Accelerate your Home Sale in Any Market

Posted By Admin on July 13, 2007 @ 8:33 am

When most of us put our homes on the market for sale, we want to sell our house as fast as we can.  In a hot real estate market, selling your house quickly is easy, but in a slow market it may be a little harder to sell your home.

For those of you looking for a quick sale, I suggest that you look for “I buy houses” ads in your local paper or online.  Typically, the individual or company that is offering this type of deal has the funds available to purchase properties quickly, without having to secure financing.  Typically, they want a break on the price but when you can’t sell your home, sometimes it is just a relief to get rid of it.

You can also look for real estate investing websites for investors eager to purchase homes.  A quick search on Google for “fast cash for houses” yields more than two million results.  Chances are that you can find a buyer for your home on one of these sites.  Just like the ads in the paper, you may not get the price you are asking for, but most of these investors are very reasonable.

Just remember that real estate is a finite resource – if you have some for sale, chances are there is someone out there willing to buy it.

Insurance Advice for Florida

Posted By Admin on July 9, 2007 @ 4:24 am

I just recently moved to Florida and have to get new car insurance.  I am new to the state and I am unsure about what I should be looking for in my search for car insurance.  I decided to look online for a good resource relating to insurance, and I found a website: InsuranceTipsGuide.com.

I really love the simplicity of the information presented on the site.  Written in normal English, they have the information I needed to make a good choice on what I should be looking for in a Florida car insurance package.

They list the types of insurance available, where to get a good discount on car insurance, as well as great tips if you are older or a lower income individual.  After checking other sites, I realized that this content was unique and not found on other sites on the web.

I have been telling all my friends and colleagues about InsuranceTipsGuide.com.  You should too.

Two Phones, One Look – Hot.

Posted By Admin on July 4, 2007 @ 5:07 pm

In this day and age, everyone seems to have a mobile phone.  Gone are the days when you were admired for the amazing phone you had – it is no longer an exclusive group anymore.  Everyone has the same phone these days, and honestly it is boring.

Spice your phone up.

That’s right.  Be a leader, not a follower and check out these two hot phones on the market: the iPhone from Apple, and the Prada phone by LG.

The Apple iPhone is one of the most hyped phones ever released.  A sleek phone boasting a new touch screen interface, the iPhone is a widescreen iPod, web browser, email reader and more.  It was just released on June 29, so you can expect some shortages in availability.

The Prada phone by LG is an eye-catcher.  Packaged in a box that reminds you of a luxury watch box, this phone has a sleek, touch screen interface.  It has a video player that supports MP4 format, a 2 megapixel camera and also supports Bluetooth.

Just remember when purchasing mobile phones, the phone you buy says a lot about you.  Do you want to be remembered as a sheep or a sexy fox?  You decide…

A Real American Muscle Car – The Ford Mustang

Posted By Admin on July 3, 2007 @ 5:50 am

Take a trip back to April 17,1964 to the release or birth if you will of the Ford Mustang.  At the time, it was one of the most successful product launches in history, selling over one million units in its’ first eighteen months.

Built as a muscle car – for power and speed, not luxury – the Ford Mustang has a large follwing.  You can find convertibles, hard tops and the much coveted Ford Mustang Cobra.  If you don’t believe me, check out some of the Ford Mustang forums – there are thousand of members participating in discussions from around the world.

If you would like to learn about the history, see some pictures and find how how to modify your Ford Mustang, check out this Ford Mustang website.

Rainy-day Boredom Busters

Posted By Admin on July 2, 2007 @ 7:39 am

Rainy days can sour the best of moods.  Especiallly when it has been raining for a week.  With young children, "I’m bored" gets pretty tiring after the first day, never mind the next six.  So, I have compiled a great list of rainy day activities for young children.

  1. Board games – most kids will sit through two of these before becoming restless.
  2. Tenting in the living room – setup a tent and pretend you are camping.  Don’t forget the marshmallows.
  3. Classic children’s movies – although we don’t want them to become couch potatoes, the odd rainy day movie marathon is fun.
  4. Puppet shows – give them socks, buttons and scaps of fabric and let them create stories and characters.
  5. Baking – there is never a better time to fill the pantry with goodies than cruel drizzly day.
  6. Surf the web – (adult supervised of course). Thedollpalace.com lets your child make cartoon dolls, pay dress up games, and fill in coloring pages online.  Such fun.
  7. Story telling – kids love to hear what they were like as babies, as well as the memories you have of when you were their age.

If you do a little of these everyday, your rainy week will be over before you know it.
